What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals with a significant role in the treatment of injury & disease. Physiotherapists combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms arising from injuries to bone, muscles and joints.
A physiotherapist will assess you using detailed history-taking as well as specific physical tests and measures. He or she will then analyze the assessment findings and use clinical reasoning to establish a diagnosis. Together, you will explore your current abilities and functional needs. Your physiotherapist can plan treatments that are consistent with your goals. Physiotherapy treatments include comprehensive exercise programs, education, manual therapy, dry needling and therapeutic modalities and incorporate approaches and techniques supported by the best evidence available. |
